Tell a story in which the characters discover an authentic conduit for communication with God, but the bandwidth is necessarily (for some valid and fundamental reason) extremely low, say 1 bit per million years.
(Along with this discovery comes the corollary that all previous purported divine communications, which would have required much higher bandwidth, have been lies.)
