Answer to Case of the Week 533:
The vector: Triatomine bugs (also called reduviid bugs, “kissing” bugs, and cone-nosed bugs).
The pathogen: Trypanosoma cruzi
Resultant disease: Chagas disease, a.k.a. American trypanosomiasis
