Are there any works for which the porn version is considered better than the original?
Inspired by big-budget porn remakes such as Pirates XXX, though those aren't really in competition to be considered better than the original.
On one hand, it seems very doable, or likely to have already been done: some original story in which the addition is sex makes the story better. Maybe the original had to comply with strict censors of its era.
Game of Thrones could be considered a porn adaptation of MacBeth. Also Shakespeare: Baz Luhrmann's Romeo+Juliet depicts far more physical intimacy than Shakespeare's stage directions.
On the other hand, maybe it can't be done, because once something has artistic merit, a requirement for "better", it cannot be considered porn, no matter how much sex it has (or has had added to it). Also previously on how art itself is defined by aesthetic optimization (making "better").
The question is a little bit tricky because porn of course tries to make better versions of previous porn all the time, so excluding such instances requires defining what pornography is, the legal question for the ages.
