And it's The Sword of Kaigen by M.L Wang, which equalled the highest score we've ever seen in the contest. I plan to read it soon.
Congratulations also to 2nd placed Fortune's Fool with the highest ever 2nd place score. And to 3rd placed Blood of Heirs with the highest ever 3rd place score!

This year the contest broke its duck on female champions, and in fact the top 4 spots were all taken by female authors. In the past 2 years we've had one male and five female authors in the medallists positions!
And we actually do have a range of e-medals now (thanks to Barbara Pickering!).
I'll be securing a Selfie-Stick trophy for M.L as soon as my team of skilled dwarven smiths have completed it. And if she sends in a shot of her proudly bearing it I'll add it here.
