Coronavirus infections topped 2.3 million world-wide, as the pandemic showed signs of easing in some countries and U.S. states, while pressure grew to re-evaluate lockdowns.
Confirmed infections in the U.S. exceeded 735,000 on Sunday, with more than 39,000 dead, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. Western economies now account for some two-thirds of coronavirus cases around the world, according to Johns Hopkins.
