The Philippine Army has displayed a mock up unit of K136 Kooryong Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) during a capability expo.

“Despite the delays on the delivery due to issues that the Philippine Army still needs to settle (storage, delivery etc), the deal with the South Korean government is still a go,” MaxDefense Philippines said posting a several photos of the said mock up unit along with a mock up unit of BrahMos land-based anti-ship missile.

The Philippine Army is set to receive 3 batteries of K136 Kooryong MLRS from South Korea.

In line with the anticipated arrival of K136 Kooryong, the Philippine Army activated a unit that will operate and maintain the said capability under Army Artillery Regiment (AAR) in October.

“We put primacy on the activation of these units in order to continuously enhance our aviation and air defense capability as we operate with the intent to be a modern and well-equipped Army, to address fast evolving threats and finish the insurgency at the soonest time possible,” former Army commander Lt. Gen. Macairog S. Alberto said early October.
