RBB Ye Boat merupakan Sea Reader produksi dalam negeri yang merupakan karya anak bangsa dibawah naungan PT. Balakosa Balin Indonesia Shipyard. Sea Reader RBB Ye Boat adalah sejenis kapal yang ringan namun berkinerja tinggi dan berkapasitas tinggi. Berdasarkan konsep perahu karet Rigid-hulled (RHIB), kapal ini memiliki tabung/spons yang diproduksi dari bahan padat seperti polietilen atau aluminium yang telah dicetak.
Dan karenanya jauh lebih kuat daripada kain yang biasa digunakan. Dengan panjang 12 meter serta daya angkut beban seberat 3.000 kg sea reader ini mampu melaju dengan kecepatan 35-40 knot per jam. Adapun Materi Uji Fungsi Sea Reader RBB Ye Boat yaitu Harbour Test dan Sea Trial. Harbour Test meliputi pengujian kekedapan tangki-tangki, pengujian sistem listrik, pengujian funsi pipa dan pompa bilga, pengujian fungsi mesin outboard tanpa beban, dan diakhir dengan pengujian navigasi dan komunikasi.
Sedangkan Materi Sea Trial meliputi pengujian kecepatan kapal dalam beberapa putaran mesin (Speed trials), uji olah gerak (steering & maneuverability trials), uji berputar (turning trial), uji maju dan mundur (stopping test a head & a stern trials), uji ketahan mesin (endurance trials) dan uji fungsi peralatan navigasi dan komunikasi. Dua unit KAL yang akan memperkuat TNI AL ini memiliki spesifikasi panjang 28 meter, lebar 6,2 meter dengan berat 90 ton terebut memiliki kecepatan maksimal 28 knots, kecepatan jelajah 18 knots dengan jumlah ABK 15 ini mampu berlayar dengan endurance selama 3 hari. Dua KAL masing-masing KAL Anyer dengan nomor Lambung Kapal I-3-64 ditempatkan di Lannal Banten Koarmada I dan KAL Rajegwesi dengan nomor Lambung Kapal II-5-40 di tempatkan di Lanal Banyuwangi Koarmada II. Penandatanganan berita acara serah terima dua unit KAL 28 M dari Direktur PT Steadfast Marine Tbk Rudy Kurniawan Logam kepada Kepala Dinas Material Angkatan laut (Kadismatal) Laksamana Pertama TNI Budi Sulistyo. Selanjutnya dari Kadismatal diserahkan kepada Asisten Logistik (Aslog) Kasal Laksnamana Muda Moelyono, M.Si (Han) dan disaksilan langsung Kepala Staf (KASAL) Laksamana TNI Siwi Sukma Adji, S.E., M.M di Dermaga Lantamal XII/ Pontianak, Senin (16/12/2019). KASAL Laksamana TNI Siwi Sukma Adji, seusai melakukan peninjauan KAL 28 M di Dermaga Lantamal XII/ Pontianak mengatakan, kedua KAL yang akan memperkuat Koarmada I dan Koarmada II ini dilengkapi persenjataan Senapan mesin bera (SMB) dengan kaliber 20 mm dan 12,7 mm. Selain itu KAL 28 M ini berlayar menggunakan mesin diesel genretor 2x Perkins PDM 63 dan diesel generator darurat 1x Perkins PDM TGM 422. “Jadi kapal ini adalah merupakan satu kontribusi dari galangan yang ada di Kalimantan Barat untuk memenuhi kebutuhan Alutsista TNI Angakatan laut dalam rangka melaksanakan tugas, yaitu penegakkan kedaulatan hukum di laut disamping juga untuk melakukan kegiatan-kegiatan dalam rangka keamanan di laut," harap Kasal. Sebagai institusi yang bertugas dalam pertahanan negara, penegak kedaulatan dan hukum di laut, TNI Angkatan laut memerlukan Alat Utama Ssitem Senjata (Alutsista) berupa kapal perang. Oleh karenanya jenis KAL 20 M ini akan dipergunakan khususnya dalam bertugas di wilayah perairan yang dangkal atau litoral. Kasal mengatakan, setelah penerimaan KAL ini, mungkin 203 bulan akan ada pelatihan di Lantamal diangkat satu kru Komandan diadakan latihan bari diserahkan, apakah kapal ini untuk wilayah Kalbar atau tempat-tempat yang lain nanti akan disosialisasikan. “Memang lazimnya KAL 28 M ini akan lebih bagus berada di Kalbar dalam rangka untuk pemeliharaannya, jika misalnya ada perbaikan-perbaikan, memberikan kontribuasi masyarakat bahwa hasil dari perusahaan galangan yang dibangun ini betul-betul memberikan suatu manfaat bagi daerah maupun kepada negara, khususnya Angkatan laut," pungkasnya.
